Description

Martin Van Buren statue, sitting on a bench in bronze, looked more pristine and homeless than the president. His politics may have been unremarkable, but his style of dress was unique, even for a man of 19th-century fashion challenge — his balding head, long bangs, and loose sideburns, his fur-collared coat, walking stick, and knee-high boots. On his lap was a copy of Kinderhook Rough Notes, his hometown newspaper in New York.

Martin Van Buren was an American lawyer and politician who served as the eighth president of the United States from 1837 to 1841. The founder of the Democratic Party, he was the 9th governor of New York, the 10th Secretary of State, and the 8th vice president of the United States. Later in his life, Van Buren became an elder statesman and an important anti-slavery leader. He led the Free Soil Party vote in the presidential election of 1848.

Martin Van Buren was born in Kender Hook, New York, where most of the residents are of Dutch descent, and the main language is Dutch. He was the first president born after the American Revolution. His father was a patriot. He was also the only president who spoke English as a second language. As a lawyer, he entered politics as a member of the Democratic-Republican Party, won a seat in the New York State Senate, and was elected to the U.S. Senate in 1821. As the leader of the Bucktails, Van Buren became the most influential politician in New York in the 1820s and established a political machine called the Albany Regency. This Martin Van Buren statue is in his memory. Figure sculpture is very common in our life. If you like it, welcome to contact us.
